Diana Stagers

Diana I. Stagers, 57, Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at her residence.

Born Sept. 13, 1949, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Dwight Allen and Violet Elvira Dickey Woodsmall. On Feb. 5, 1987 she married Kenneth Lee Stagers in Mount Pleasant. He died April 4, 2005.

She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant Community High School, class of 1968. She worked for IAAP in Middletown and for Nypro, Experian and Mapleleaf Health Care in Mount Pleasant. She also worked for Buff's Travel Plaza, Sirloin Stockade and Hardee's in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She liked fishing. She loved bingo. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include three sons, Greg Parker of Mount Pleasant, Kevin Stager of Lockridge and Keith Stagers of Coppock; two daughters, Brenda Williams of Washington, and Valerie Parker of Mount Pleasant; one adopted son, Max Curran of New London; her father of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Robert Woodsmall St. Peters, Mo; 22 grandchildren and 13 great–grandchildren.

Her mother and husband preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Weir and Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stagers will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Weir and Kimzey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Burge Cemetery, New London.
