Max Millspaugh Schaefer,58 died about 12:05 a.m.
Saturday , Jan 31,1976 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was born Feb 27,1917 inHenry County. The son of J. Ferdinand and Ethel Millspaugh Schaefer.
On Sept 18, 1953 he married Ethel Mae Schwab in Fairfield.
A farmer his entire life. Mr Schaefer was a member St. Alphonsus catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard in World War II and wa a member of the V.F.W and American Legion.
He was also a member of IOP Rifle and Pistol Club of Burlington, National Rifle Association and Fairfield Rifle Club.
Surviving are his widow;stepson, Dennis Thomas of rural Lockridge,two step grandchildren; and his mother of rural Lockridge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Weir- Cookes Funeral Home. Father Paul Albers will officiate with interment in Grant Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 7p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
