Alvah F. Ditsch(SIC)

Alvah Frederick Ditsch*, 33-year old Danville contractor, died at Mercy hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday night.

He was an Army veteran of 4 years service in World War II, 6 months of which was spent overseas. Ditsch was born March 30, 1918, in Pleasant Grove township, the son of Lester and Inez Stigge Ditsch, and was married Aug. 29, 1942, in Burlington to the former Mae Elizabeth Fritz.

The couple lived in Danville 3 years. Ditsch is a member of Burlington's First Evangelical & Reformed church and its consistory.

Surviving are a widow; 2 children, Roger, 7 and Marilyn, 4; his parents of New London; 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Mrs. Iva Owen, Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Eva Knopp, Burlington; Mrs. Erma Reynolds, Oneida, Ill.; Leland Ditsch, Hartley; and Carol Ditsch, at home. The body is at Elliot's chapel in New London. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Evangelical & Reformed church with Rev. R.G. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
