Wilbur Long

Wilbur H. Long, 85, of Mt.
Pleasant, died on Friday, Aug. 15,
1997, at his home in rural Mt.
Pleasant.

He was born Aug. 19, 1911, at
Cairo, the son of John and Georgia
Gregory Long. On Aug. 19 1936,
he married Evelyn Fullerton at rural
Columbus Junction. She survives.

He was a lifelong farmer in the
area and was a Farm Bureau mem-
ber.

Survivors include; his wife of
Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs.
Dave (Janice) Faler of Columbus
Junction, and Jennifer Long of Mt.
Pleasant; three sons, Richard of Lit-
tle Rock, Ark., Phillip of Aurora,
Colo., and Kevin of LaPorte City;
11 grandchildren; and 8 great-
grandchildren; a sister, Mary Mar-
garet Wallace of Wapello.

He was preceded in death by his
parents; two brothers, Kenneth and
Donald; three sisters, Dorothy,
Lucille, and Florence; and a grand-
son.

Funeral services were held Mon-
day (today), Aug. 18, at the Stacy-
Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus
Junction.

Visitation was held on Sunday at
the Funeral home.

A memorial has been established
at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home.
