SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. WILLIAM H. WHITE

The memorial service for Mrs. William H. White was held at the Cookes Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 with Dr. George G. Hunt the officiating minister. Mrs. Stanley B. Niles and Mrs. Will McClaran sang and Mrs. Dan Winter played the organ. Pallbearers were Ben Seeley, Ross Shafer, Harry Green, Harry Freeman, Frank McMillan and Ed Yocum. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery.

Kathryn Alveda Beck, the daughter of Anton and Julia Melcher Beck, was born in Henry County August 7, 1885, and passed from this life May 6, 1946, at the Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant after several months of weakening illness.

After receiving her elementary education in the schools of her native community she trained for a nurse in the Burlington Protestant Hospital and followed that profession until she married William H. White, February 19, 1913. They lived on a farm one mile west of Mt. Pleasant until they retired to the home in Mt. Pleasant on East Washington street in 1940.

Mr. White passed away February 26, 1942.

Mrs. White is survived by her three hildren: Mrs. Lucile Marceline Mathers, Mrs. Mary Kathryn Eshelman, and Warren William White, all of Mt. Pleasant, four grandchildren, Tommy Lee White, Karen Ann White, Robert Mathers and Ronald Eshelman; a sister and a brother, Miss Luella Beck and Fred E. Beck of Mt. Pleasant.
