Services Held for Mrs. Job Ford

Memorial services for Mrs. Job L. Ford were conducted Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Stanley Andersen, local pastor, officiated at the rites.

The funeral music was provided by Mrs. Max Stein, organist, and Miss Jean Gressley who sang "When They Ring the Golden Bells", "The Lord's Prayer", and "Ivory Palaces".

The pallbearers were: Mark Lawrence, Harry Green, O.L. Job, Ralph Rukgaber, Donald O'Connor and Earl Owens. Interment was in Forest Home cemetery.

Julia Wilhelmina, daughter of Charles John and Carolina Munson Johnson was born on December 22, 1891 near the town of Rariton, Illinois, and passed away June 27, 1950 at 3:55 p.m. at the age of 68 years, six months and five days.

At the age of four years she went to Sweden with her parents to live, which was their native land, and remained there until she was fourteen years of age when she returned to America with her brother Charles; her parents later coming her to live.

When a girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran church.

On December 19, 1906, she was united in marriage to Mr. Job Lloyd Ford. To this union were born five daughters and one son.

Surviving are her husband, ten grandchildren and the following children:

Mrs. Everett Zink, Mrs. George Sherrin, Mrs. John Higgins and Lloyd E. Ford, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Ray Scarff and Mrs. Raymond Gisser, both of this city; all of her children and her husband being at her bedside during her passing.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Fred Wilson of Danville and two brothers, Oscar F. Johnson and Ed Johnson of Red Oak.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and one infant grand-daughter.

Mrs. Ford has been a faithful member of the Baptist church, Mt. Pleasant, for more than thirty years.

She has been in ill health for several years but was critical only the past few days. She passed to her rest very quietly and peacefully as in sleep. Her love and loyalty to friends and family will long be a cherished memory of many.
