Mrs. Lillie French, formerly a resident of near Mt. Pleasant, passed away at 4 p.m. Friday at Tucumcari, N.M. where she had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard French. Mrs. French had moved with them to New Mexico in January. She had been in ill health since spring. She was 78 years old.
Surviving besides the son, Howard, are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One daughter and her husband, Lynn French, preceded her in death.
The body will arrive at the Cookes-Lunning home where services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oakland Mills cemetery.
