Margaret M. Bowers, 93, of Morning Sun Care Center, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at the care center. Born July 15, 1910, in Muscatine, she was the daughter of Charles and Anna Bartonhagen Samuels. On May 15, 1933, she married Thurman "Ginger" Bowers. He died May 16, 1977.

Mrs. Bowers and her husband farmed in the Winfield and Morning Sun communities.
She and her husband retired to Florida. She recently moved to the Morning Sun Care Center in 2002.

Survivors include Melvin Bowers of Port Byron, Ill.; one sister, Miriam McConahay of Muscatine; two brothers, Dean Samuels of Wapello and Robert Samuels of Morning Sun; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. There will be no calling hours today at the funeral home.

A graveside service for Mrs. Bowers will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Winfield–Scott Township Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Morning Sun Care Center.
