Melvin Marshall Youngman, age 83, of Winfield died Monday, October 3, 2005 at his home. The son of Oscar and Zella Swise Youngman, he was born March 11, 1922 at Oakville. He was married to Mary Marie Snell from 1944 to 1982.

He farmed in Henry County until 1979. He was proud to work at K and B repair in Winfield with Kenny Kongable. He was a graduate of Huron High School and a member of the United Methodist Church in Winfield. He was a former member and Master of the Good Faith Masonic Lodge. He served on the Board of Directors of Midwest Old Threshers.

Survivors include his children, Patricia (Dale) Williams of Phoenix, AZ: Rand (Jeanne) Youngman of Winfield; Peggy (Steve) Reneau of Los Alamos, NM; Wayne Youngman of New Orleans, LA; Mary K. Fowler-Dyal of Arizona. Grandchildren, Cheryl (Barry) Wade of Laveen, AZ; Loretta (Rob) Pruitt of Prescott Valley, AZ, Lesley Stewart, Stephen Brown, Michael Youngman of the local area; Katie Fowler, Patricia Dyal and Dillon Dyal of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Chelsea, Connor and Mackenzie Wade of Laveen, AZ; Bailey Lillywhite of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Shelby Brown of the local area. Sisters, Gwen (Gene) Rodruck of Altoona; Eleanor Davis of Gotha, FL; Janet Sherer of Burlington; Brother, Larry (Diane) Youngman of Pittsboro, IN. Extended family, Shelly Kongable and children Alissa, Sophie and Jacob of Winfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Myron C. Youngman, infant sons James and Michael; granddaughter Monica Marie King.

Services will be held Friday, October 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home with the family meeting friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established for the Mel Youngman Education Scholarship Fund.
