Walter W. (“Doc”) Neff, 89, Washington, died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following a lengthy illness. The son of Henry Neff and Nora Tucker Neff, Wayland, he was born May 11, 1910.
On August 26, 1932 he married Ivy Marion in Wayland, who survives.
Except for 20 years which he spent in Las Vegas, Nv., he lived in Washington most of his life. He attended Cottonwood School near Wayland. Mr. Neff was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking and making miniature crafts. He farmed and raised hogs north of Washington and west of Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Ivy, Washington; a son, Jerry Neff, and wife Marsha, Henderson, NV; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Neff, Washington and Forrest Neff, Wayland; one sister, Eva Garrett, Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Family visitation was held from 7-8:30 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2000 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday May 2, 2000 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home, Washington, with Rev. Robert Bell officiating.
Interment followed at the Cottonwood Cemetery, Wayland.
