Mary Jane Lindeen, 77, Mt. Pleasant, formerly of the Swedesburg community, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at her home. Funeral services were held at 10?30 A.M. Wednesday March 22 at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Borlesks officiating. Interment was in the Swedesburg Church Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening. Memorials can be made to the Swedesburg Lutheran Church in her memory.
Mrs. Lindeen was born June 19, 1922 in Fairfield, the daughter of Harold and Margaret McGraw Nelson. She married Virgil Lindeen on February 28, 1943, at the Swedesburg Lutheran Church.
She was an active member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Church and worked for many years at the P.E.O. Home in Mt. Pleasant. She was also active in the Swedish Heritage Museum and the L.C. W. Circle.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Thomas Lindeen of Wapello and Timothy Lindeen of Plymouth, Minnesota; three daughters, Connie Sue Butcher, New London; Peggy Amodi, Mediapolis, and Heidi Clark, Menominee Falls; one brother, Larry Nelson, Hillsboro, one sister Patti Glenn, Fairfield, and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and an infant granddaughter.
