Harold Speidel, 85, of Wayland, died October 7, 1997 at the Parkview Home in Wayland. He was born June 10, south of Wayland to Eli and Minnie (Zuhn) Speidel. On June 23, 1934, he married Josephine A. Phillips in Davenport. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Schooley of Brighton and a son, Philip Spiedel of Mount Pleasant, eight grandchildren, seven greeat grandchildren, two sisters, Ethel Hauenstein of Columbus City and Helen Shepherd of Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 5, 1992, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
