Carla JoAnne Ellis was born March 15, 1935 in Wayland, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Margaret Reinier Ellis. She graduated in 1952 from Ollie High School. Following graduation Carla was employed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 1½ years before moving to Iowa City where she worked as a medical secretary at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 42 years. An avid reader, Carla retired in 1997 and volunteered in the Patient’s Library at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is survived by her mother Margaret Ellis of Ollie, two brothers, Larry (Patty) Ellis and Bob (Judy) Ellis both of Ollie, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1998.
Memorials may be made to the Rock Creek Church Restoration Fund or to the Prairieview United Methodist Church.
