From Fireworks Display on Barge.

Three were drowned at Burlington in a strange way when a display of fireworks on a barge tied to the launch Naughty Girl blew up. They were Mrs. Marshall Jordan and Mrs. I. D. Conover of Mt. Pleasant and Edward J. Lee of Burlington.

Two others who jumped overboard were saved and the other eighteen passengers were brought ashore.

The accident occurred during a river fete.
