BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

Saturday evening, January 19th, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Mrs. Fanny Mast assembled at her home in east Wayland to help her celebrate her 80th birthday. The occasion was arranged as a surprise and it was all of that, but Grandma Mast likes those kind of surprises and enjoyed the evening with her family immensely.

Those present were Chris Wyse and family, Pete Wyse, wife and Hubert, S. P. Wyse and wife, Fanny Augsberger and family, Elmer Krabill and family, Lester Krabill and family, Fred Wyse and family, Mike and Omer Krabill, in all a jolly crowd of 34.

For refreshments, a large birthday cake was provided decorated with 80 pink and white candles and it was a beauty, such as only Mr. Wagner knows how to make. Popcorn, apples, and home-made candy were also served. The evening was spent with music and songs and at a late hour the company returned home wishing Grandma many more birthdays.
