ACCIDENT AT REGALIA FACTORY
MT. PLEASANT YOUNG LADY RECEIVES PAINFUL INJURIES MONDAY.
MISS VERA TAFT.
While Engaged In Burning Letters In Pennant, Outfit Exploded And Severely Burnt Her In Face.

Miss Vera Taft, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Taft and employed at the Staats Regalia Works, met with a painful and serious accident on Monday afternoon. She was engaged in her work of burning letters into pennants and was using a needle or brush driven by compressed air and gas. For some reason or another this exploded and she was badly burned about her face. The burns on the left side of the face were particularly severe and it is very likely that the scars will remain for some time, although it is hoped they will not be permanent. Medical aid was at once summoned and the young lady given the best attention and moved to her home. She is resting easily today and it is hoped will make a speedy recovery.
