In the District Court, Nov. Term, 1912

Last Will and Testament of John Schadt.

Know all men by these present that I, John Schadt of Trenton, County of Henry, State of Iowa, do make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
(1) After the payment of all just debts that I may owe at the time of my death, I give, devise, and bequeath all the poultry, household goods, (8) eight head of best hogs, two horses Nig, a black mare, Jess, a dark gray mare, best wagon, two/fifths or eighty four acres including all buildings, north eighty four, rods of farm running east and west to my beloved wife, Sophia Schadt. In case my present wife, Sophia, should get married again south 34 acres or the above eight four acres shall go back to heirs name in Class 3 named below.
(2) My deceased daughter Maggie Schadt Hull’s children Eber, Esther, and Frank are to each receive Twenty-five dollars ($25) each.
(3) My beloved children Lena Schadt Finley, John D. Schadt, Daniel Schadt, Edward Schadt, Frank B. Schadt, Sophia A. Schadt Schlarbaum, William P. Schadt, Jessie B. Schadt, Ida M. Schadt, and Anna R. Schadt, are to share equal what remains of my estate.
(4) I nominate Joseph G. McCray to be the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name this 22nd of October 1912.

We hereby certify that on this 22nd of October 1912 at John Schadt’s residence in Trenton Twp., County of Henry, State of Iowa John Schadt to us personally known did, in our presence, sign the foregoing instrument and declare the same to be his last will and testament, and we at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, do hereunto subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.
