CIGAR STORE IS SOLD
Schliep Factory On East Side Changes Hands After Fifty Years In Business.
Is Purchased By Henry Bickenbach and Frank Lyons - Oldest Tobacco House in Mt. Pleasant - New Owners Are Well Known.
The Schliep Cigar store on the East Side of the square, which has been in operation for nearly half a century, has been sold by Mr. Will Schliep to Messrs. Henry Bickenbach and Frank Lyons. The stock is being invoiced and possession wil be given as soon as this work is completed.
The building belongs to Mr. W. H. Schliep, who started the business away back in war times and who at one time had a factory with a dozen men and turned out fine cigars by the thousands. He finally retired from the business and turned it over to his son, Will, who continued it until on account of ill health he was obliged to turn the care of the business to others.
Mr. Bickenbach has been in the cigar business for years and is at the present time manufacturing cigars on the south side. The new firm will no doubt do well in its new location.
