WILLOWBANK SCHOOL HOUSE.
The new school house in Willowbank district is now completed ready for the stoves and seats. These will promptly be placed in the building so that it may be ready by the beginning of the next school term.
The Directors, as soon as notified by the contractor that his work was completed, met at the building, and after looking it over and seeing nothing amiss, they voted that the architect who drew the plans and specifications be invited to examine and report upon the work. The architect, Mr. C. A. Dunham came up on Monday, and after an examination made the following report:
To the Board of Directors independent School district, Mt. Pleasant:
Gentlemen: - The undersigned has this day examined the new school building built by James Myrtle, and find that he has fulfilled his contract agreeable to the plans and specifications, and in a most satisfactory manner. C. A. DUNHAM, Architect. This report was received by the Board, the building accepted, and Mr. Myrtle paid the balance due him on the contract.
The total cost of the building as it stands is $3,587. It is a large fine building, one which is no discredit to this city.
We now have all the school buildings we shall probably need for many years to come. We have the Main building, Winona, Centennial and Willowbank, and we have room and accommodations for all our children.
