IN BUSINESS HERE FOR FIFTY YEARS

John A. Lauger, who Saturday is observing the 50th anniversary of entering the men's clothing business in Mt. Pleasant, recalled Friday some of the many changes that have taken place in the half century.

Of the names familiar then in butiness locations, four others are recalled. They are the F.B. Crane and Son Jewelry Store, the McLeran Music store, the Will Dyall studio and the Mt. Pleasant News. In only two are the original owners still in the firms, Will Dyall with the studio and C.S. Rogers with the Mt. Pleasant News, death having taken F.B. Crane and C.E. McCleran.

Mr. Lauger was associated with William A. Jones in the store from 1901 until Mr. Jones death in 1912. Mr. Lauger then purchased the Jones interest.

As a token of appreciation to his customers in observance of the anniversary, Mr. Lauger is making a discount on all merchandise in the store for the one day.
