William Sherman Cook was born in Wisconsin in 1852. Married and died in Iowa in March or May of 1880 (age 28) from a construction accident. He left a wife Susan E. (nee Cook) Cook (yes a Cook married a Cook)and two small children. He is reported to have been buried in Bethel Knauss or Valley View Cemetery. I am told of some vandalism decades ago in one of these cemeteries that may have involved his headstone.
There is a record of a William J. Cook with the same data as William Sherman Cook in Bethel Knauss. He is buried next to a Priscilla Cook that by the date could possibly be the mother of William J. Cook.
I am trying to verify the final resting place for William Sherman Cook and any other information that may be available as to his parents, etc. and at the same time trying to see if my information was perhaps wrong and William Sherman Cook might actually actually be William J. Cook.
