Daniel J. KennedyDaniel J. Kennedy, one of the best known and most highly respected railway engineers on the Northwestern system, passed away Christmas day, after an illness extending over many weeks.
Daniel Kennedy was born at LaSalle, Ill., March 18, 1853, and died at his home in Missouri Valley, Dec. 25, 1919, aged 66 years.
At an early age he moved with his parents to Boone county, Iowa, and came to Missouri Valley in 1886, where he has resided ever since.
Besides a loving wife he is survived by six children, Daniel E., of Fort Dodge; Leo W., of Sioux City; Chas. J. of Chadron, Neb.; Mrs. F. J. Rae, of Boone, Ia.; Sr. Ignatius of Omaha, Neb., and Sr. Mary Loras, of Kansas City. Four brothers and three sisters also survive.
The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. The remains were shipped to Boone, Ia., for interment.
