William Darrel Hack, 89 of Logan, died April 15, 2017, at the Westmont Care Center in Logan.

Funeral Services were held April 18, at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine. Officiating was Beth Fouts. Vocalist was Sue Benedickt who sang these special selections “Seasons in the Sun” and “Amazing Grace”. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Williamson, Marv Purcell, Carter Hack, Craig Mitchell, Terry Totten and Bill Greenwood. Military graveside rites were provided by Logan VFW Post No. 6256. Final resting lace was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap, Iowa.

William was born Dec. 24, 1927, to Perry and Juliette (Baldwin) Hack in Dunlap. He was raised in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1944 at the age of 16. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge, Bill moved to Logan. In August of 1948 Bill married Barbara Michael in Spirit Lake. Bill worked for the Logan Elevator and purchased a cream route which he operated for 17 years. Bill was a co-owner of the Logan Produce. He also worked for WR Grace for many years until his retirement. Additionally, Bill drove a school bus for 10 years. In November of 1976, Bill married Linda (Peterson) Rashleigh in Blair, Neb.

Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Logan. He was also a member of the Chrysolite Masonic Lodge No. 420 A.F. & A.M., a Shriner, and served on the Logan Fire Department. He liked to golf, dance, bowl and enjoy life. He refereed for football and basketball for many years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Hack; brother, Dean Hack and sister, Rosanna Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Linda Hack of Logan; son, Mike (Renee) Hack of Logan; grandchildren, Heather (Ross) Edney, Heath (Rachel) Hack of Logan; great-grandchildren; Nick Edney, Dana Edney, Carter Edney, Carson Edney, Ethan Hack, Ella Hack; step-daughter, Deb (Jeff) Dolphin of Oswego, Ill.; brother, Dwaine Hack of Dunlap; and many other relatives and friends.
