Eula Jeane (Rannells) Roberts was born April 8, 1927, to James Arthur and Leeta F. (Calhoon) Rannells near Dunlap, Iowa. She was raised near Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School. After graduation Eula Jeane worked at the Martin Bomber Plant in Omaha, Nebraska. On January 21, 1949, Eula Jeane married Frank Roberts at the Methodist parsonage in Dunlap. The couple farmed their entire lives. Frank died on February 3, 2015.
Eula Jeane was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school and was active in the UMW. She was the family archivist and enjoyed researching the family genealogy Eula Jeane enjoyed baking, putting up sweet corn and making teddy bears for all of the grandkids. She was also known for her chocolate layered cakes and an autograph quilt. Eula Jeane was a wonderful farm wife and partner with Frank and caregiver for her family.
Eula Jeane died on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Dunlap Specialty Care Center at the age of 90 years, four months, and seven days.
Eula Jeane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Roberts; two brothers, Francis and Rich Rannells; and four siblings-in-law, Art Roberts, Don Wetter, Estella Rannells, and Margaret Achenbach. She is survived by her four children: Donnie (Jan) Roberts and Ronnie (Cyrila) Roberts all of Dunlap, IA, Johnnie (Kathy) Roberts of Boise, ID, Janet (Ed) Isom of Omaha, NE; 10 grandchildren; 10+ great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Heller of Indialantic, FL, Margaret Wetter of Des Moines, IA; sister-in-law, Polly Rannells of Ridgedale, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
