Beating Fatal to Prather
Former Local Man Dies of Assault Injuries.

Thomas Prather, former Missouri Valley man, about 30, died in Marshall, Minn., hospital at nine o'çlock this morning from injuries sustained in a severe beating, according to a telephone message from a Marshall peace officer received here.
Mr. Prather was found in a railroad box car. The officer making the report expressed the belief that he had been beaten by hoboes.
The man is the son of the late Clark Prather, several times mayor of this city. He is survived by two half sisters who live in Omaha.
