Retired Railman Succumbs

C.L. Holcombe Dies Saturday; Rites are Held Today

Clinton Lore Holcombe, 68 year old retired C. & N. W. Railway employe, died at his home at 810 East St. Clair street Saturday evening at 10:30. He had been ill for several years. He is survived by his widow and two sons Clifford and Donald both of Missouri Valley.
Mrs. Holcombe is the former Miss. Anna Kirley, who for many years served as an instructor in the Missouri Valley public school system.
Mrs. Kirley's mother, the late Jane Kirley and the county's oldest resident, died some months ago at the age of 103.
Mr. Holcombe's body was taken from the Hennessey and VanCleave chapel to the home Sunday afternoon. Members of the parish recited the rosary there Sunday evening.
Funeral services were held at the St. Patrick's church at nine o'clock Monday morning. The Rev. P.R. O'Donnell officiated and burial was in Mount Carmel.
