DEATH ANGEL VISITS DUNLAP.

Death of Miss Minnie Christie Causes Much Sadness. She Was Loved By All.

PROMINENT IN CHARITY WORK.

Passed Away Last Wednesday After A Long Illness. Funeral Held Thursday Afternoon.
Dunlap, Feb. 16-(Special to the Review)-The community suffered an irreparable loss by the death of Miss Minnie M. Christie, who has greatly endeared herself to the entire town by her charitable and philanthropic work.

(Obituary by her pastor.)

Minnie M. Christie was born March 21, 1865, at Franklin Grove, Ill., and moved with her parents to Dunlap in 1872.

She attended school for three years at Brighton, Canada, and afterwards the normal school at Shenandoah, thus preparing herself to teach, which occupation she followed for five years. She learned stenography at Omaha in 1890 and followed that work for six years. In 1893 she graduated from Deaconess Training school in San Francisco, Cali., and three years later graduated as a trained nurse from the Methodist hospital at Minneapolis, going from there to Springfield, Mo., as assistant superintendent in the Methodist hospital. She then accepted a position as deaconess nurse in Mercy Deaconess home, Chicago. At the end of one year she was called home to care for her mother, her father having passed away.

About two years ago she began suffering from a goiter, gradually declining until Oct. 22, 1914, when the goiter was removed by an operation at the Nicholas hospital. For a time she seemed to rally and to regain her strength, but about a month ago gave up hope and declined rapidly and died Feb. 10, 1915.

Miss Christie was converted an joined the Methodist church when a young girl and consecrated her life to the Master’s service. She was an active member of the Home for the Foreign Missionary societies and held an office in the Woman’s club and the Relief Corps.

She delighted to work among the children in the Sunday school and the Home Guards and a host of little folks will remember and profit by her kindly teachings. In all departments of the church work she manifested the Christ spirit.
She leaves to mourn her loss an aged mother, who had looked to Minnie to be her comfort and stay in old age; also leaves on sister, Mrs. Ada Hyde, of Norfolk, Neb., a brother, John Christie, of Salt Lake City, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends who have known and loved her. The sympathy of all is extended to the mourning ones in this hour of sore bereavement.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Thursday afternoon, Rev. Grant conducting the same, assisted by Rev. Conrad. A quartet furnished appropriate music. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
