VERA MAE KOENIG

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Methodist Church, with Rev. Joseph Mason officiating.

Music was by Arlene Stoner, accompanied by Evelyn McKay.

Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery with Paul Foutch, Omer Foutch, Walter Ellerbeck, Ed Myer, Chet B. Dunn and Earl Leonard acting as casket bearers.

Vera Mae was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Maguire. She was born May 9, 1896 at Emerson, Iowa, and passed away at the Holben Rest Home on November 24, 1963, after an extended illness. She was 67 years, 6 months and 15 days old.

She was baptized as a member of the Christian Church and later transferred to the Methodist Church at Logan, where she was an active member of the church and the church school. Some of these yeas of service were given to the church at Bethel. She was an active member of the W.S.C.S. and the Rebekah Lodge.

She attended grade and high school at Emerson and participated in many of the school activities.

She was married to Carl Koenig at Logan on February 16, 1961 [1916] and to this union three children were born, Kenneth, Kermit and Mrs. Donna Foutch, all of Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren, Ronnie Koenig of Ames, Dennis Koenig of Norfolk, Nebraska, Marvin Foutch, Linda Koenig, Terry Koenig and Randy Koenig, all of Logan; two brothers, William Maguire of Logan and Lynn of Missouri Valley and a host of friends.
