Bryce M. Collins, 74, of Iowa Falls, Iowa and formerly of Popejoy, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, Iowa. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the American Legion Hall,709 South Oak Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa, followed by a Celebration of Life Service for Bryce M. Collins at 11:00 am Saturday, with a meal to follow, also at the Iowa Falls American Legion Hall. A Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 7th at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. In lieu of flowers Bryce requested memorials be directed to the family c/o his wife: Dora Collins, 1221 North Fremont Street, Apartment #41, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126; to be distributed to Bryce's favorite charities The Linn's Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. 641-648-2569

Bryce Merwyn Collins was born August 16, 1940, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Ralph Arthur and Adeline Edith [Kroll] Collins. He attended and graduated from the Dows Community Schools with the High School class of 1959. On April 27, 1962, Bryce was united in marriage to Dora Anna Shaner at the First Baptist Church, Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Ronald and Karen. Bryce worked for several farmers and farmed himself near Popejoy, Iowa, in Franklin and Wright Counties He also drove as a pilot car escort delivering bridge beams. He was a member of the Dows and Popejoy United Methodist Church's and served in many offices. Bryce was on the Franklin County Extension Council for many years and a 4-H Leader. He was also a devoted member of the Popejoy and Iowa Falls Lions Clubs and was a past president and district zone chairman with the Popejoy Club. He restored many antique tractors for fund raisers and himself. He was a member of the Mason's Home Lodge # 192, Iowa Falls and the Al Amin Shriners International of Corpus Christy, Texas. He enjoyed participating in tractor rides and was a member of the 2 Cycle and 2 Cylinder Club. Bryce served as the Mayor of Popejoy, Iowa, and was involved with organizing events for Popejoy Day. Bryce and Dora treasured their winters in Mission, Texas, and spending time with friends. He loved farming, restoring tractors, raising cattle, working on machinery, helping people, going car cruising, going to Texas, and going to grandchildren's events. He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather, his greatest love was for his family and farming.

Bryce M. Collins is survived by his wife of 52 years: Dora Collins of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his son: Ron [Jody] Collins of Humboldt, Iowa; his daughter: Karen [Bob] Bouska of Hazleton, Iowa; three grandsons: Joe {Abby] Bouska, Nick Bouska, and Kyle Bouska; his mother: Adeline Collins of Iowa Falls, Iowa; and two sisters: Sharon Womack of Webster City, Iowa, and Glenda [Tom] Plant of Philomoth, Oregon; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends: The Russ Lawson family of St. Charles, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph Collins; his grandparents: Warren and Amanda Collins and Fred and Ruth Kroll; and his in-laws: Margaret and Harold Shaner.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hanson Family Hospital and the Mary Greeley Hospital and their wonderful doctors, nurses, and staffs for their support and amazing care.
