Jeffrey Paul Wilwert was born January 29, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Gilbert Leo Wilwert and Alice Marie [Streif] Wilwert. He graduated from Western Dubuque High School; Loras College, Dubuque; and Des Moines University. He did his residency at Southern Illinois University, Decatur, Illinois. On December 28, 1985, he was united in marriage to Margaret L. 'Peg' Schaefers at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Gregory, Olivia, and Megan. For the last fifteen years, Dr. Wilwert was employed with the McFarland Clinic in Iowa Falls and Eldora, Iowa. Prior to that, he practiced in Oelwein, Iowa, for seven years. He was a member of St. Mark Parish, Iowa Falls.

Jeff was a dedicated physician, who cared deeply for his patients. He especially enjoyed treating the elderly and children, and had a unique gift for working with those with special needs. He was a devoted family man, who took great pride and joy in the accomplishment of his three children. In his free time, he enjoyed going for long walks in the evening and fishing. The times he spent fishing at Brushy Creek with his friend, Tom Heinz, and his father-in-law, Greg Schaefers, along with the time on Lake Okoboji with Mark Hanson, were a peaceful diversion from his hectic schedule. Music gave him great joy - he would whistle at work, hum and sing at home, and was the life of the dance floor at any wedding he attended.

Dr. Jeffrey Wilwert is survived by his wife: Peg Wilwert of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his mother: Alice Marie Wilwert-Oeth of Epworth, Iowa; his children: Greg Wilwert of Amite, Louisiana, Libby Wilwert [fiancé©: David Martzahn] of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Meggie Wilwert of Iowa Falls, Iowa; and seven brothers and sisters: Jane [Jerry Heater] Tucker of Sumner, Iowa, John [Ellen] Wilwert of Allen, Texas, Jean [Bob] Krueger, of West Des Moines, Iowa, Julie [Mark] Kuehnle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jim Wilwert of Ankeny, Iowa, Joel [Lynda] Wilwert of Spokane, Washington, and Jason [Tracy] Wilwert of Sequim, Washington. He was preceded in death by his father: Gilbert Leo Wilwert; his step father: Bernard Oeth; his brother-in-law: Don Tucker; and a nephew: James Kuehnle.
