Robert Orrin Fults was born December 31, 1944 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Orrin Faye and Vesta “Arlene” [Millet]. Bob grew up on the family farm north of Iowa Falls. He attended the Iowa Falls Community School District and graduated from the Iowa Falls High School in 1963. He attended one year at Ellsworth Community College. He decided not to follow in the family farm life, but after getting his father interested in the collecting of Winchester rifles and collectibles, also became an avid collector himself. In 1978 Bob was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Judith Diane Salmen, and they were united in marriage in 1982. In this union a son was born, Jason. Bob and his dad would head out in the worse weather conditions to get to a gun show. Both of them sneaking in a purchase and hiding them so the wives wouldn’t know about another addition to their collections. Bob tried his hand at many jobs, and found he liked roofing. He worked at Ace Roofing in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, working on roofs in Aspen, Vail, and many other surrounding towns. After moving back to Iowa Falls in 1983, he continued his roofing career at Iowa Falls Roofing, and then at Central States Roofing in Ames, Iowa until his retirement. He then devoted his time to his family, loved looking for pretty rocks with his three grandchildren, with coffee cans holding those treasures. Bob loved the outdoors and spent many days hiking in the woods with his dog. His life revolved around his love of his dogs, Pepper the Australian Sheppard, and Kerby the West Highland Terrier. If Bob couldn’t be outside everyday enjoying the time with his dogs, he wasn’t a happy camper. Bob gave of himself to his family who he was devoted to. We will cherish all the good times and the memories we created. We would like to thank Dr. Van Gorp and the nursing staff at the Hansen Family Hospital for their care and compassion in Bob’s care.
Robert Orrin Fults is survived by his wife: Judith Fults of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his son: Jason [Danielle] Fults of Iowa Falls, Iowa; two daughters: Tammy and Robin; his sister: Jill [Jack] Eggspuehler of Omaha Nebraska; and three grandchildren: Avary, Myla, and Channing. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Orrin and Arlene Fults.
