Elsie A Elliott, 100, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Elsie Elliott will be 10:45 am Monday, February 5, 2018 in the Garden Room at the First United Methodist Church; 619 Main St.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. A time of visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 am, Monday, February 5, 2018 also at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. If you cannot attend memorials may be sent to: Elsie Elliott Memorial; C/O Linn’s Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. The Linn’s Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is helping the family with arrangements.

Elsie A. Smit was born on February 12, 1917 in Hudson, Iowa on a rural farm to Bertha [Sealman] and Jacob Smit. She attended country school in Grundy County, graduating from Iowa Falls with the class of 1936. After high school she worked at Aborn Cafe, Janke Grocery Store, and Clifton Grocery Store. Worked many years at the Iowa Falls Hot Lunch Program. She enjoyed making quilts, camping with the Pac-N-Go Club, fishing with family and friends and taking very good care of her family and grandkids. Elsie was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 70 years. She was united in marriage to Wendell Elliott at the Hampton Methodist Church in 1947. The couple had three daughters: Barb, Malinda, and Rochelle.

Elsie Elliott is survived by her three daughters: Barb Herr of Nevada, Iowa, Malinda [Jim] Reed of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Rochelle [Kevin Schwebke] Elliott of Bradford, Iowa; six grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. Elsie Elliott is preceded in death by her parents: Jacob and Bertha Smit; her husband: Wendell Elliott; sister: Gerdtrude Havens; brother: Harlan Smit; son-in-law: Steve Herr; and a great-granddaughter in infancy.
