John Woessner and George Lehman, farmers from Ackley, on their way to Germany for a visit, put up at the True Blue Hotel in New York. One of them blew out the gas and Woessner’s body was found with Lehman unconscious lying beside it. Lehman was taken to the hospital, where he died.
