Kills Man and Then Punctures His Photo on the Wall.
When John Lepley, a farmer living near Union, put a bullet through his head he not only shot himself but also a picture of himself in the room. The bullet that Lepley fired into his head went with such terrific force that it passed through from side to side.
Not far away on the wall hung a group picture in which Lepley was taken with a number of other people. After it had dealt death to Lepley the bullet took its course with unerring accuracy straight towards the likeness on the wall and punctured it squarely.
Lepley had been acting queerly for some time and it is believed that his mind was unbalanced. He had a wife and several children.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Sheppard Cemetery in Gifford, Iowa. He was born December 8, 1863 and died July 27, 1908.
