IOWA FALLS—Phyllis A. Bartlett, 80, of Iowa Falls passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, at the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls, with the Rev. T.J. Norman officiating. Burial was at the Northlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o her son: Pete Bartlett, 101 Riverwoods Road, Iowa Falls, IA 50126. Phyllis Arleta Davenport was born July 28, 1924, at Bradgate, the daughter of Fay Tecumsah and Marjorie Melona (Goodell) Davenport. She attended the Rutland Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1940. She then went on to graduate from the Iowa Methodist Nursing School, Des Moines, and attended the State University of Iowa for two years. She worked at the Pediatric Polio Wards and the University Hospitals, Iowa City, and did community health nursing for Scott County in Davenport. On June 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Meade Canfield Bartlett at Iowa City. To this union three children were born: Anne, Peter and Mary Elizabeth. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband after they moved to the Iowa Falls area in 1954. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls, where she served as a deaconess and a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was also a member of the Parchment Club. Phyllis A. Bartlett is survived by her children, Anne Krepps and husband Bob of Cape Coral, Fla., Pete and wife Kathy of Iowa Falls, and Liz Posey and husband Lyle of Ottawa, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Renee, Jeff and Brian Posey of Ottawa, Kan., James and Michael Krepps of Tucson, Ariz., Matthew Krepps of Cape Coral, Fla., and Andrea and Kinsey Bartlett of Iowa Falls; and two brothers, Rodger W. Davenport and wife Doris of Crossville, Tenn., and Stuart R. Davenport of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Marjorie Davenport; and her husband, Meade Bartlett. Linn’s Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
