IOWA FALLS—Helen Bonita Faisey, 85, of Iowa Falls died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Graveside services were Friday, Feb. 18, at the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown with the Rev. Bobby Shomo officiating.

Eleanore was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Marshalltown to Floyd Stobart and Maude Bernice Hartley. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. She went to work for the F.W. Woolworth Co. and later the Marshalltown Times Republican newspaper. Her unique musical talent took her to Denver. Colo., where she performed as a singer for the Hal Leonard Orchestra and traveled around the country to several renowned places, including the famous Trianon Ballroom in Chicago. She was then the featured singer at the popular Beacon Supper Club in Denver for several years. After an accident, she could no longer continue her singing career and relocated to Torrance, Calif., where she met and married Edward Faisey. She became very active in her church there, furnishing recording services and events. After several years she relocated to Alden where she enjoyed playing golf with her friends. She spent several happy years at the Ashbrook Manor in Iowa Falls.

She is survived by nieces, grandnephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; sister Mildred Aileen Norris; and brother-in-law William Nelson Norris.

Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
