RADCLIFFE—Wilhelmina Lois Klemme, 83, formerly of Radcliffe, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Story County Hospital in Nevada where she had been a long-term care resident for nearly five years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Radcliffe with burial at Radcliffe Cemetery. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Wilhelmina was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Hastings, Neb. She was the eldest of four children born to Milford and Lydia (Reutlinger) Vance. Her father was a Methodist minister. They lived in several different communities as she was educated and she graduated from high school in Fullerton, Neb. On June 22, 1948, Willie was united in marriage to Alvin Klemme by her father, the Rev. Milford Vance. After their marriage, they farmed near Murdock, Neb., until 1969. They then moved to the Radcliffe area and farmed near Garden City. In 1978 they retired into Radcliffe. Willie was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church in Radcliffe where she enjoyed quilting and being involved in the UMW.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice Klemme of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son, Rodney and wife Nancy of Nevada; two grandchildren; her stepmother, Delia Vance of Mission, Texas; one brother, Ken Vance of LeMars; one sister, Virginia Geary of Norfolk, Neb.; one half-brother, the Rev. Melvin Vance of Racine, Wis.; one half-sister, the Rev. Ardith Nelson of Mission, Texas; along with other relatives and friends. Wilhelmina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Vernon Vance.
