ACKLEY—Marie Lillian Heine, 80, of Ackley and formerly of Parkersburg died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at the Presbyterian Village of Ackley of natural causes. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 12, at the First Congregational Church, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Ron Bartlett officiating.

Marie was born Aug. 18, 1924, the daughter of William and Minnie Kneppe Fank on her parents' farm near Parkersburg in rural Butler County. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended Iowa Teachers College for one year. Marie was united in marriage with Raymond Heine on June 21, 1946, in the Congregational Church in Parkersburg. The couple made their home for a few years on a farm in the Pleasant Valley community near Clarksville. They moved south of Parkersburg and farmed until moving into Parkersburg in 1958 where they lived the rest of their lives. Marie worked for Dale Hassman, Ken’s Feed & Supply and Johnson Plumbing and Heating as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Parkersburg where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She loved to play table games and spend time with her family. She had kept a daily diary and filled many books in the process. Her church and family were her life and she had a deep concern for their well-being.

Marie is survived by one son, Lee and wife Nadene Heine of Hillsboro, Wis.; a daughter, Linda and husband Arnie Luiken of Steamboat Rock; a brother, Bennie and wife Frances Fank of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother.

Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
