Mabel 'Cheryle' Allison

September 6, 1925-January 26, 2005

HAMPTON—Mabel “Cheryle” Allison, 79, of Hampton died of natural causes Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Hampton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Hampton Cemetery.

Cheryle was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Wharton, Texas, to Louis and Lydia Ann (Wittig) Sherrouse. She attended Wharton High School. On March 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to George Russell Allison in Houston, Texas. Cheryle was a housewife and mother, worked as a telephone operator and drove the transit bus in Hampton. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary and the Senior Center. She enjoyed listening to music, reading and gardening.

Survivors include three daughters, Ann L. Allison of Portsmouth, Va., Susan Glass of Wilton, Conn., and Cheryle McCormick of Plymouth, Mich.; two sons, Dan L. Allison of Hampton and George R. Allison Jr. of Ellicott City, Md.; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Louella Roecher of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; a son, Jimmy; and a sister, Alene.

Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
