Geneva Brown Watkins

January 14, 1912-January 22, 2005

IOWA FALLS—Geneva Brown Watkins, 93, of Iowa Falls passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral services are Thursday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Waukee Cemetery, Waukee. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o 709 Fremont St., Iowa Falls, IA 50126.

Emma Geneva was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Van Meter Township of Dallas County, the daughter of Bert O. and Ida Brown. She graduated from the Adel High School with the class of 1930 and then attended Mount St. Clair College in Clinton and the Iowa State Teachers College, receiving her degree in educational instruction. She was united in marriage to Thomas L. Donnelly on Dec. 31, 1938; he later passed away. She was then united in marriage to William Watkins in 1985. Geneva taught school in Van Meter Township, Waukee, Maxwell and Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Mark Parish, Iowa Falls.

Survivors include a son, Gerard Peter Donnelly of Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Juanita Roff of Bloomington, Minn.; two brothers, Bertrand “Bert” Brown and wife Mary Rose and John Brown and wife Donna, all of Iowa Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Thomas Donnelly and William Watkins; and three sisters, Kathryn Heenan, Eloise Johnson and Mary Angela Brown.
