Clyde Hoing

ALDEN—Clyde William Hoing, 85, of Alden passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at his home. Memorial services were Monday, Jan. 24, at the Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel. Memorials may be directed to his family c/o his wife, Ruth Hoing, 17927 135th St., Alden, IA 50006-9038.

Clyde was born May 18, 1919, in Green Mountain, the son of Edward and Estella Emeline (Hinman) Hoing. He attended Liberty and Green Mountain community schools. He served with the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 with the Army in Japan. On May 19, 1954, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Ahlberg in Iowa Falls. To this union two sons were born, Robert and Doug. Clyde farmed southwest of Iowa Falls and was also employed by Iowa Prestressed Concrete of Iowa Falls, retiring in 1981.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Ruth Hoing of Alden; his two sons, Robert and Doug Hoing, both of Alden; and two sisters, Ruby Dunham of Marshalltown and Etta Hansen of Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Maymie Lynch, Esther Steward and Ruth McCrary; and eight brothers, John, Gleen, Carl, Walter, Leo, Francis, Lawrence and Albert Hoing.
