APLINGTON - Dena Lindeman, 100, of Aplington died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Christian Reformed Church in Parkersburg with Rev. Frank Pott officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Aplington. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Dena was born June 13, 1903, in Butler County to Harm and Swanetta (Mulder) Kramer. She received her education at a rural school in Grundy County, near Aplington.
On Feb. 25, 1931, Dena was united in marriage to William Lindeman at her parents' home in Parkersburg. The couple settled on a farm two miles west of Buck Grove. In 1949, they moved to Aplington. Dena was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Parkersburg, where she served on the Ladies Aid and was the oldest living member of the church. Dena was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, caring for ill relatives and coffee visits with others.
Survivors include one son, Wenlyn Lindeman and wife Shirley of Iowa Falls; two granddaughters, Joie LaFrentz and husband Raef of Boston, Mass., and Wendy Lindeman of Dallas, Texas; one grandson, Michael Lindeman of Omaha, Neb.; one great-grandson, Nicholas Lindeman of Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; five brothers, Harm, Henry, John, Lambert and George Kramer; and six sisters, Swanetta Harms, Grace Oldenburger, Minnie Jansen, Sena Johnson, Tena Kramer, Trientje Wallerstein and one in infancy.
Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements.
