ROGERS, Ark. - Jessie "Mabel" Dodd Kothenbeutel, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Beverly Health Care Center in Rogers. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Chapin United Methodist Church in Chapin with Rev. R. Karl Watkins officiating. Burial will be at the Wayside Cemetery in Chapin.
Mabel was born April 25, 1914, to Will and Estella Dodd in Ross Township. She lived west of Chapin until her marriage to Lester Kothenbeutel in October 1935. The couple farmed west of Chapin, and later moved to Chapin. In 1996, Mabel moved to Springdale, Ark., to be near her family. She was employed for 26 years as a cook in the Chapin school and was active in her local church.
Survivors include one son, Warren Kothenbeutel and wife Chris of Aurora, Colo.; one daughter Norma Ubben and husband Kenneth of Springdale; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Dodd and Lloyd Dodd, both of Hampton.
