APLINGTON - Judith Stevenson Dreyer, 93, of Aplington died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Aplington Baptist Church in Aplington with Pastor Dan Smith and Rev. Don Patet officiating.

Judy was born April 7, 1910, to Ben and Serina (Clovning) Stevenson at Radcliffe. She graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1928. She continued her education for a year at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and then attended Waldorf College in Forest City, earning her teaching certificate. Judy taught school in Randall and later in Aplington. She was united in marriage with Lawrence Dreyer on June 29, 1939, on her brother's farm near Randall. They made their home in Aplington and she became a homemaker. She was a member of Aplington Baptist Church where she was active in Bible school, Benevolent Society and various children's ministries. Judy was a charter member of the Aplington Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, playing card games, high school and college sports, golf and bowling. She looked forward to the family vacations to northern Minnesota and spending time with her grandsons.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Schuttinga and husband Jim of Annandale, Va., and Connie Dreyer of St. Paul, Minn.; and three grandsons, Andy and Aaron Burgus and Daniel Schuttinga and wife Ursula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; two daughters, Martha Sue Burgus and Mary Lorraine Dreyer, in infancy; two brothers, Alfred and Martin; two half-sisters, Mayme Stevenson and Hannah Tawzer; and one half-brother, Selmer Stevenson.

Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements.
