HAMPTON - Burt W. Weaver, 84, of Hampton died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton with Rev. Jon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 4-8 p.m. at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.

Burt was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Buffalo Center to Allen and Anna (Heikens) Weaver. He attended country school near Buffalo Center. Burt served in WWII, stationed in the South Pacific in New Guinea. On Feb. 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lily Aukes. She passed away in 1959. He was remarried on June 4, 1983, to Betty Sims in Hampton. Burt was a farmer who enjoyed playing cards, reading and attending men's prayer breakfast. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of the Buffalo Center American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; one daughter, Mary Ann Garvey, and husband Dan of Farmington, Minn.; one son, David Weaver, and wife Sheila of Madison Lake, Minn.; two grandsons, Richard Garvey and wife Heather of Apple Valley, Minn., and Shawn Garvey and wife Jennifer of Prior Lake, Minn.; one granddaughter, Karla Garvey of Farmington; two step grandchildren, Mercedes and Micah Morson of Madison Lake. Burt was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters and four brothers.
