CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Cpt. Leif E. Nott, 24, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Belaruz, Iraq. Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 8, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne with Rev. Gary Ruzicka and Chaplain David Hall officiating. Military honors were provided by 3BCT/3ACR Funeral Honors Team. Burial was in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Friends may contribute to Young Life.
Leif was born Sept. 9, 1978, in Vicenza, Italy, to Leslie and Raffaella Nott. He was a 2000 graduate of West Point and a member of Young Life (Club Beyond). On July 7, 2001, he was united in marriage to Melanie at Radcliff, Ky. Leif served in the U.S. Army 10th Calvary, A Troop, 4th Infantry.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie; his parents, Leslie and Raffaella Nott of Cheyenne, formerly of Iowa Falls; a brother, Eric D. of Cheyenne; and his grandparents, Maria Teresa Fadiga of Italy, Oliva (Reisetter) Wright of Grinnell, formerly of Radcliffe, Shirley Nott of Cheyenne and Steve Wright of Iowa. Leif was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Larry L. Nott, of the Iowa Falls area and Emilio Fadiga.
Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes was in charge of arrangements.
