ELDORA-Helen Hauser Crosser, 96, of Eldora, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Services were held Monday, June 23, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora with burial in the Hauser Cemetery in rural Whitten. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora.

Helen was born July 23, 1906, in rural Union to George and Rosa Rodwell Hauser. She was raised on the family farm, graduated from Union High School in 1924, and studied home economics at Iowa State University. On Jan. 1, 1929, she married Lewis Crosser at the family farm in Union. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed photography and playing golf. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star and P.E.O. Helen was the last surviving grandchild of Thomas and Nancy Hauser, who were the original settlers in the area.

She is survived by her daughter, Joylyn Marks of Albuquerque, N.Mex.; a son, Jerry Crosser and wife Janice of Green Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; and four sisters.

Biersborn Funeral Home of Union was in charge of arrangements.
