HAMPTON-Ella Furman, 92, of Hampton, formerly of Bradford, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at the Hampton Care Center. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St Peter's United Church of Christ, rural Geneva, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. David Gobeli and Rev. Rose Hermanot officiated.
Ella was born Oct. 7, 1910, in Grant Township, Franklin County to Fred and Anna Boyenga Meinberg. She attended Sunnyside School at Geneva. On Oct. 24, 1928, she married Irae O. Furman at Ft. Dodge. Ella and her husband operated the Furman Truckline at Bradford. She was a member of the Bradford Methodist Church and the UMW in Bradford. Her hobbies were crocheting and playing the organ.
She is survived by two sons, Dean Furman and Dale Furman, both of Bradford; a sister, Emma Benning of Iowa Falls; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Duane; one brother Edward; and three grandchildren.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home at Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
