June Arline Eggleston, 92, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Bickford Senior Living Home in West Des Moines, Iowa.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Whitten Community Church in Whitten Iowa. Memorials may be sent to family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for June and her family. Phone 641-844-1234.June Lamer was born on February 11, 1921, at the farm house in rural Hardin County to Elmer and Rosa Hahn Lamer. On November 7, 1942, June was united in marriage to Kenneth "Chris" Eggleston at the same farm house where she was born. After marriage, they resided in Marshalltown until Chris' passing on November 2, 1973 and June moved to Eldora. June had worked with her husband at Stark Heating Service. June was a member of the First Congregational Church of Eldora as well as on the PTA. June loved to golf, go boating, loved to croquette, spend winters in Arizona and loved to travel whether it is to Europe or on an Alaskan cruise. June is survived by her children: Craig (Donna) Eggleston of Des Moines and Steve (Cindy) Eggleston of Norwalk; her grandchildren: Kim, Jeff, Jacob, Zachary, Cari, Jodi, Kathi and Scott; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and special niece and friend Ann Bracy. June truly loved her family and she will be greatly missed.June is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Chris and both of her parents.
