OBITUARY
LLOYD A. BERG

Lloyd A. Berg died March 21, 1997, at the Eldora Regional Medical Center of age related causes. His wife of 62 years, Virginia Bartlett Berg, had preceded him in death on March 8, 1997.

Lloyd Berg was born on October 1, 1907, the son of Oliver S. and Anna Smith Berg. He graduated from the West Union High School in 1924. He also attended college at Upper Iowa in Fayette and Iowa State at Ames. In 1935 he married Virginia A. Bartlett in West Union, and in 1939, they moved to Osage from Eldora, where Mr. Berg operated the Berg Ice Cream Company. His ice cream and butter products were well known in Hardin County area, until he retired in 1969 at age 62.

Upon retirement, he became more active in trap shooting, and won honors in both his age division and in open shoots in Iowa and many other states.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur Berg of Seattle, Washington, and James berg of Lake Oswego, Oregon; a daughter, Bettina Berg Troy of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren on the west coast; and a sister, Ruth Hagen of Casper Wyoming.
